Terms of use
Plain-language terms for the Noctune app and this website. Purchases are also covered by the terms of the App Store or Google Play.
Last updated November 1, 2026
Who we are
Noctune and noctune.app are provided by Michal Piják DEV, Na Hrebienku 1498/35, 811 02 Bratislava, Slovakia, Company ID (IČO) 57396655, Tax ID (DIČ) 1126935656, registered in the Trade Register of the District Office Bratislava, No. 110-362285. Contact: support@noctune.app.
Using the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Noctune on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies too. If you got it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service apply.
The sounds and artwork in the app are licensed to us or made by us. You may listen to them in the app, but you may not extract, copy, redistribute or sell them, or use them to train AI models. Some of the recordings are licensed under terms that forbid exactly this, so please respect it.
Premium, subscriptions and refunds
Noctune is free to download with a set of free sounds. Noctune Premium unlocks every sound and feature. The current options and prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
- Payment is taken by Apple or Google through your store account. We never receive your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can cancel any time in your store account settings; you keep Premium until the end of the paid period. How to cancel: on iPhone, on Android.
- Free trials, if offered, turn into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.
- Refunds are handled by the store under its own rules: Apple, Google Play. We can't issue refunds ourselves, but write to us if something went wrong and we'll help.
- Restoring: on a new phone, open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases while signed in to the same Apple or Google account.
If you're a consumer in the EU, you have a right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. For digital content that you start using right away, this right ends when you start using it, provided you agreed to that when buying. The store's refund rules may still give you more.
Not a medical device
Noctune is a relaxation and sleep-sounds app. It doesn't diagnose, treat or cure any condition, including insomnia or tinnitus, and nothing in the app or on this website is medical advice. Keep the volume at a comfortable, moderate level, especially with headphones or near a baby, and talk to a doctor if you have ongoing problems with sleep or hearing.
This website
The articles on noctune.app are general information written carefully and linked to their sources, but they can't replace professional advice. Texts, artwork and design are protected by copyright. You may quote short parts with a link to the original page.
Liability
We work hard to make Noctune reliable, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always work without interruption or on every device. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage or lost profit. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live. If you have a complaint, write to support@noctune.app first; we'll reply within 30 days. Consumers in Slovakia may also turn to the Slovak Trade Inspection (Slovenská obchodná inšpekcia) for alternative dispute resolution.
Changes
We may update these terms when the app or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. Changes don't affect purchases you have already made.
